Do You Know Heart Attack Signs?
A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that only 1 in every 4 Americans may know a heart attack’s warning signs and how to respond appropriately. The report is the result of a random phone survey of 72,000 residents in 13 states and the District of Columbia. The five warning signs can include any one or more of the following: • Chest pain (the most common) • Shortness of breath • Discomfort in arms and/or shoulder • Weakness or lightheadedness • Discomfort in back, jaw or neck What’s the correct immediate action?
